Donated by: Gundy Khouw. Studio located in Greenfield, NH. Gundy (Eileen Sheen) Khouw grew up in New York City and had the opportunity to enjoy early exposure to museums and theater. After graduate school at Harvard University, she taught French and Spanish in high school and middle school, and ESL to adults in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. Art was always a source of happiness. Studying entomology and zoology, making costumes for school plays, designing games for language learners, taking students to museums in Montreal and Paris provided “art opportunities”. She took classes and workshops whenever possible in landscape painting, figure drawing, etc. With children grown, there was time to paint. Evelien Bachrach Seeger’s challenging watercolor classes at the Sharon Arts Center continue to inspire her. She lives in Greenfield, NH with her husband and several animals. "Art, for me, is a travel medium. It provides insights into nature, things, places and people beyond bounds of time."
